DENTAL BRIDGES

One of our treatment options to replace missing teeth are dental bridges. These fixed restorations include a false tooth that is held by the abutment or anchorage teeth on both sides. The abutment teeth could be the patient’s natural teeth, dental crowns, or implants. As the name suggests, it bridges the gap between the remaining natural teeth after tooth loss.

Why you need dental bridges?

  • To revive your smile.
  • Restore your ability to properly speak and enunciate words.
  • You’re able to properly chew while the biting force is evenly distributed to the teeth replacement.
  • Teeth spacing and movement are prevented
Dental Bridges

In our practice, we use different types of dental bridges as best suited to the patient’s dental case.

  • Traditional dental bridges are used when the patient has two natural teeth on each side of the gap. These natural teeth are encased with dental crowns and they hold a false tooth in place.
  • Cantilever bridges are used for patients who only have an adjacent teeth on one side of the lost tooth. Hence, only one tooth supports the prosthetic device.
  • Maryland bridges are made of artificial teeth and gums with a porcelain or metal support called wings. The wings are anchored only on one side of a natural tooth.
  • Implant-supported bridges are used when there are no natural teeth close to the gap. Dental implants would be placed first to be covered with crowns that would anchor the false tooth. This option is ideal when there are more than two teeth missing.
